If someone were to ask, with this kind of thinking,
whether creation was truly a collaborative work of the Father,
the Son, and the Holy Spirit, how would you respond?
(Strictly speaking, creation was not the work of the Father alone,
but also of the Son and the Holy Spirit together.
The statement “Let Us make man” appears in the creation account of Genesis.
The Apostle John and the Apostle Paul also describe Jesus as the Creator.)
People do not see or understand such Bible verses.
I was once one of those people.
“O LORD, You laid the foundation of the earth in the beginning,
and the heavens are the work of Your hands.” Hebrews 1:10
Satan used the single word “us” to plunder people,
and kept them bound tightly under his control.
Yesterday I had a long conversation with someone about who God is.
That person was fixated on the word “us” and could not find a way out.
No matter how much I pointed to the exit, he insisted that “us” had to be resolved first.
Some say,
“You must believe in the Trinity in order to see the Scriptures.”
I say,
“You must see the one God in order to see the Scriptures.”
“All the prophets testify about Him that everyone who believes in Him
receives forgiveness of sins through His name.” Acts 10:43
The Bible records Jesus Christ.
Only when it is revealed according to the Scriptures who Jesus Christ truly is, can the Scriptures be seen.
“You search the Scriptures because you think that in them you have eternal life;
and it is they that testify about Me.
Yet you refuse to come to Me that you may have life.” John 5:39–40
Jesus Christ is the Everlasting Father who came as a child,
and that Father swallowed up His children’s death in resurrection. Hallelujah!!
People cannot see or understand the gospel because of their own preconceived thoughts that are already rooted within them.
No matter how right or reasonable my thoughts may seem, if they contradict the Word of God, they are wrong.
In the Scriptures, God has revealed and laid out the gospel.
I earnestly hope that we would cast aside our own thoughts and humbly return to the gospel that God has accomplished.
