“Circumcision Is of the Heart”

“Behold, the days are coming,” says the Yehowah, ”
that I will punish all who are circumcised only in the flesh: Egypt, Judah, Edom,
the Ammonites, Moab, and all who dwell in the wilderness in the farthest corners.
For all these nations are uncircumcised,
and all the house of Israel are uncircumcised in heart.”

Jeremiah 9:25–26

“But he is a Jew who is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart,
in the Spirit, not in the letter; whose praise is not from men but from God.”

Romans 2:29

There is a characteristic common to the people of Israel who were uncircumcised in heart.

“I have spoken to you, rising early and speaking, but you did not obey Me.”
Jeremiah 35:14

If the heart is not circumcised, a person cannot hear the word of God.

How, then, can one’s heart be circumcised?

By believing in God’s righteousness with the heart.

“That if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart
that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.”

Romans 10:9

When we believe that Jesus Christ is Jehovah God who came in the flesh,
and that God raised Him from the dead for our salvation, our hearts are circumcised.
Hallelujah!
