“Therefore, having obtained help from God, to this day I stand,
witnessing both to small and great,
saying no other things than those which the prophets
and Moses said would come to pass that the Christ would suffer,
that He would be the first to rise from the dead,
and would proclaim light to the people and to the Gentiles.” Acts 26:22–23
Everyone who says they believe in God must surely consider something.
Do I, like Paul, believe and proclaim what the prophets
and Moses said “must surely come to pass”?
What was it that the prophets said “must surely come to pass,”
that Paul proclaimed even at the risk of his life? It is the gospel.
That gospel concerns His Son,
whom God promised beforehand through His prophets in the Holy Scriptures.
According to the flesh He was born of the seed of David,
but according to the Spirit of holiness He was declared to be the Son of God with power
by the resurrection from the dead Jesus Christ our Lord. Romans 1:2–4
After hearing the gospel message that “the Savior of the Old Testament, Yehowah,
is the same as the Savior of the New Testament, Jesus,”
someone left the following comment:
(“Jesus’ real name is Yehowah, and God is not one but three…
Did God give birth to the Son? And who is the Holy Spirit?
When Jesus was baptized, where was the Father, where was the Son,
and where was the Holy Spirit??????????
Question: In Psalm 110:5, who is ‘the Lord,’ and who is ‘the Lord at your right hand’?
If the Father is Jesus, then in Acts 7:56 who is the Son of Man and who is God?
When Jesus was baptized, whose voice came from heaven?
And whose voice was it on the Mount of Transfiguration?
Galatians 4:4 says, ‘God sent His Son…’
At Stephen’s martyrdom he said,
‘I see Jesus standing at the right hand of God.’ Does that make sense?”)
We must ask ourselves a question:
How would I answer this person?
Can I share with them the prophecy of the prophets who said
“it must surely come to pass”?
And we must ask ourselves whether we are in that faith.
If we are among the many different kinds of faith, then we do not have the faith that believes the gospel.
