How Shall We Escape Judgment?

Therefore we must give the more earnest heed to the things which we have heard,
lest at any time we should let them slip.

For if the word spoken by angels was steadfast,
and every transgression and disobedience received a just recompense of reward,

how shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation?

This salvation was first spoken by the Lord and was confirmed to us by those who heard Him.
God also bore witness with signs and wonders, with various miracles,
and with gifts of the Holy Spirit according to His own will.
Hebrews 2:1–4 (KJV)

If we hear the gospel but do not pay careful attention to it, we will drift away from the truth.
The gospel is God’s gracious gift, revealing the Almighty Himself.

Yet countless people find little joy in this gospel.
They hesitate to believe it because accepting it may require them to abandon the religion
they have long cherished, and they fear losing the honor and recognition they now enjoy.

The apostle Paul gave his life to Christ the moment he encountered Jesus, who is the gospel.
Most people, however, refuse to let go of what they already possess and reject His gift of eternal life.
The gospel is the gracious gift that the Almighty God, the Creator,
came into this world as a man for our sake and rose from the dead.

If we reject this marvelous gift of eternal life, the consequence is eternal judgment in hell.
God’s gift is eternal life a treasure beyond comparison, far more precious than anything this world can offer.
Hallelujah!
