Then He opened their understanding, that they might understand the Scriptures, and said unto them,
“Thus it is written, and thus it behoved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day:
And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in His name among all nations,
beginning at Jerusalem.
And ye are witnesses of these things.” (Luke 24:45–48)
Having therefore obtained help of God, I continue unto this day, witnessing both to small and great,
saying none other things than those which the prophets and Moses did say should come:
That Christ should suffer, and that He should be the first that should rise from the dead,
and should show light unto the people, and to the Gentiles. (Acts 26:22–23)
The gospel is the “light.”
Jesus Christ is that light.
Jesus Christ is Yehowah God who was prophesied in the Old Testament.
Yehowah God foretold, saying that He Himself would come and swallow up death.
People do not know that light, and wander about in confusion, not knowing what is the truth.
Even when they hear the gospel, they do not move from where they stand.
Therefore Jesus said:
“And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.” (John 1:5)
Even if the dead rise, it is not enough. It must be confirmed through the Scriptures.
But people have long since closed the Bible.
Even today, to those who live with the Bible shut, God speaks:
“If you want to know who I am, open the Scriptures!”
Amen, Amen!!
Unless we confirm it through the Scriptures, the transition from darkness to light does not take place.
Yehowah God came in the form of a servant like us, and He swallowed up death and achieved victory.
In the Scriptures, there is the treasure of eternal life.
Halleluyah!!
