“Except that the Holy Ghost witnesseth in every city,
saying that bonds and afflictions abide me.
But none of these things move me,
neither count I my life dear unto myself,
so that I might finish my course with joy,
and the ministry, which I have received of the Lord Jesus,
to testify the gospel of the grace of God.” Acts 20:23–24
When we meet the risen Lord, the course we are to run becomes unmistakably clear,
because God has entrusted us with the mission of proclaiming His gospel.
Jesus Christ is the Gospel.
Jesus Christ is the resurrection and the life.
Jesus Christ is Jehovah who became flesh.
The mission He has given us enables us to face even chains and afflictions without fear or hesitation.
When we believe in our hearts that the God who created the heavens
and the earth came in the flesh for our sake
and rose from the dead, the Holy Spirit comes upon us.
We receive His power and become witnesses of Jesus to the ends of the earth.
This is the race I am called to finish. Hallelujah!
“Wherefore I take you to record this day, that I am pure from the blood of all men.
For I have not shunned to declare unto you all the counsel of God.”
Acts 20:26–27
