But their minds were made dull, for to this day the same veil remains
when the old covenant is read. It has not been removed,
because only in Christ is it taken away. Even to this day when Moses is read,
a veil covers their hearts. But whenever anyone turns to the LORD
the veil is taken away. 2 Corinthians 3:14–16
“If you believed Moses, you would believe Me, for he wrote about Me.” John 5:46
A man whose heart was still covered by this veil watched a sermon declaring
that Jesus Christ is Jehovah who became a man.
To this he commented, “Idiot…”
Because he insists that Jesus Christ must only be the second Person of the Trinity the Son
the claim that Jehovah Himself became a man sounded foolish to him.
Yet in truth, he was calling God Himself an idiot.
And is he the only one who does this?
Jehovah God truly is the Creator and the Savior.
When that very God came in human form and said, “I created all things,”
if someone cannot believe His words, is that not essentially calling God foolish?
I, too, once lived foolishly.
But now I am no longer foolish,
because I have come to believe His Word exactly as it is written.
When I realized that Jesus Christ is Jehovah who became a man,
my foolishness disappeared.
The veil that covered my heart was taken away.
To return to Jesus Christ means to recognize that Jesus Christ is Jehovah in human form.
It means understanding that everything Moses wrote in the Pentateuch ultimately points to Christ.
Yet even many who heard the gospel from Paul still had the veil over their hearts.
That is why they imprisoned Paul, beat him, and tried to kill him.
When Jesus walked the earth, people likewise refused to remove the veil covering their hearts.
And today, the same thing continues people still refuse to remove it.
So they consider the gospel foolish.
The veil is removed only when a person believes that the writings of Moses,
the prophets, and the Psalms all testify about Jesus.
“Beginning with Moses and all the Prophets,
And beginning with Moses and all the Prophets, he explained to them
what was said in all the Scriptures concerning himself. Luke 24:27
