“This is because you are not able to hear My word.”

To whom shall I speak and give warning, that they may hear?
Behold, their ears are uncircumcised, and they cannot listen.
Behold, the word of the Yehowah is to them an object of reproach;
they take no delight in it.  Jeremiah 6:10

“From the thirteenth year of Josiah the son of Amon, king of Judah,
even to this day—these twenty-three years—the word of the Ywhowah has come to me,
and I have spoken to you again and again, rising early and speaking,
but you have not listened.”  Jeremiah 25:3

“Why do you not understand what I say?
It is because you are not able to hear My word.” John 8:43

And He said to them, “O foolish ones,
and slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken!” Luke 24:25

And they said to one another,
“Were not our hearts burning within us while He was speaking to us on the road,
while He was opening the Scriptures to us?”  Luke 24:32

No matter how loudly one cries out asking for a burning heart,
if the Scriptures are not opened, one is merely deceived by emotions.
Just as Jesus opened the Old Testament Scriptures and caused His disciples to understand,
even now, unless the Old Testament is opened, the heart cannot truly burn.

What is it in the Old Testament Scriptures that makes the heart burn?

“You search the Scriptures because you think that in them you have eternal life;
and it is these that testify about Me.”  John 5:39

The heart burns only when it is revealed
that the Yehowah Himself would come as a man and destroy death.
Otherwise, one reads without understanding what the words mean, or says,
“Why is this so complicated, so hard to understand, and so tedious?” and closes the Bible.

Instead, they wander in search of other things, look upon falsehood,
and cry out that their hearts are burning.

“Is not My word like fire?” declares the Yehowah, “and like a hammer that shatters a rock?
Therefore behold, I am against the prophets,” declares the Yehowah,
“who steal My words from one another.” Jeremiah 23:29–30

  1. There is truth in the Bible. There is life. All Scripture is true.
    In the Old Testament, it was foretold that a virgin would conceive and give birth to a son,
    that a Son would come as a child, and that He Himself would be Yehowah God.
    It was also foretold that He would abolish death and triumph over it.
    All of these prophecies were fulfilled exactly as spoken.
    Hallelujah!!
