And He came to Nazareth, where He had been brought up, and as His custom was,
He went into the synagogue on the Sabbath day and stood up to read.
And the book of the prophet Isaiah was handed to Him.
And when He had opened the book, He found the place where it was written:
“The Spirit of Yehowah is upon Me,
because He has anointed Me to preach the gospel to the poor.
He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted,
to proclaim liberty to the captives
and recovery of sight to the blind,
to set at liberty those who are oppressed,
to proclaim the acceptable year of Yehowah.” Luke 4:16–19
The Creator God became a creature and read the book of Isaiah.
And we also are reading the very words of Isaiah
that the Almighty God, who created the heavens and the earth, once read Himself.
Even thinking about this seems impossible, yet it is true.
The Creator God who came to proclaim the year of Yehowah’s favor—
that God we call Jesus Christ.
The Everlasting Father, who Himself became man
and proclaimed the grace that Yehowah God had prepared.
Yet people seek the things they personally desire in order to satisfy themselves,
and the grace God has given is regarded as though it were something insignificant.
So some seek mystical experiences,
while others desire a god who will grant them the riches and glory of this world.
But the entire Bible records only the work of grace given by that God.
The promise that the Creator would become man,
and the wondrous grace proven through His resurrection—
that grace is the greatest, most marvelous, and most mysterious grace of all.
To receive that grace and live in it
is to already be living seated in heaven. Hallelujah!
