“He stretcheth out the north over the empty place,
and hangeth the earth upon nothing.” Job 26:7
“For I know that my redeemer liveth,
and that he shall stand at the latter day upon the earth:
And though after my skin worms destroy this body,
yet in my flesh shall I see God.” Job 19:25–26
“I have heard of thee by the hearing of the ear: but now mine eye seeth thee.
Wherefore I abhor myself, and repent in dust and ashes.” Job 42:5–6
Even by hearing about God, one can know that the earth hangs in space
and that the God who created the earth would come as a man, stand upon the earth, and rise again.
In other words, it is possible to know these things about God intellectually
without first abhorring oneself and repenting in dust and ashes.
The God whom Job knew was not a God consisting of three persons yet one God.
Rather, He was the one God who created the heavens and the earth,
and who Himself came to the earth and rose again.
Just as Job knew these truths, a person may come to understand them without first experiencing repentance.
Yet when one truly beholds that God with the eyes of the heart, he cannot help but make the following confession:
“Who is he that hideth counsel without knowledge?
Therefore have I uttered that I understood not; things too wonderful for me, which I knew not.
Hear, I beseech thee, and I will speak: I will demand of thee, and declare thou unto me.” — Job 42:3–4
Jesus Christ is Yehowah, the Creator who became flesh, the King of Life who died and rose again. Hallelujah!
