Then Philip opened his mouth, and beginning with this Scripture,
he preached Jesus to him as the gospel… Acts 8:35
“I, Jesus, have sent My angel to testify to you these things for the churches.
I am the Root and the Offspring of David, the Bright Morning Star.” Revelation 22:16
The gospel is Jesus.
Philip proclaimed Jesus as the Root and the Offspring of David.
This is because Jesus Himself declared that He is the Root and the Offspring of David
and commanded that this testimony be given to the churches.
Jesus is the Creator God, the Root of all humanity, yet He wants people to know
that He became a man through a human lineage.
The Jews did not want such a Jesus, and they crucified the Almighty who came in the flesh.
However, He came in order to rise from among the dead, and therefore He revealed the life of resurrection.
Through His resurrection, He proclaimed that He is Yehovah God, the very Origin of creation.
Even today, Jesus desires to make Himself known as the Root and the Offspring of David,
the King of Life who has swallowed up death. Hallelujah!!
Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life.
He who believes in Me will live, even though he dies…” John 11:25
