“For I bear them record that they have a zeal of God, but not according to knowledge.
For they being ignorant of God’s righteousness,
and going about to establish their own righteousness,
have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God.”

Paul was a man who was well versed in the Old Testament Scriptures,
yet he confessed that he did not possess the true knowledge of God.
This shows that knowledge of the Bible itself is not necessarily the same as knowing God.
Then what is the knowledge of God that Paul spoke of?
It is the knowledge that Jesus Christ is Jehovah God manifested in the flesh and that He rose from the dead.
Knowing many things about God and actually encountering the risen Lord are two very different matters.
People often say, “How could I not know God when I have read the Bible so diligently?” Or,
“How could I not know God when I have experienced so many spiritual things?”
Yet people are often unable to make the same confession that Paul made,
because they have not seen the risen Lord with the eyes of their heart.
If one does not know that Jesus Christ, the Resurrection and the Life,
is Jehovah God who came in flesh and blood, all labor is in vain, for one has not truly known the true God.
The knowledge of God becomes true knowledge only when a person comes to realize that Jesus Christ,
the Creator and Savior, who came in flesh and blood, is Yehowah God.
Jesus Christ is the Creator, the Savior, the Wonderful Counselor,
the Mighty God, the Everlasting Father, and the Prince of Peace.
That very God came in the likeness of man, died for us, and rose again. Hallelujah!
